From dictionary.com: noun “the songs on an album accompanied by a series of videos or a single film serving as a visual vehicle for the music”
These days, the reality of streaming music requires each piece of an album be a separate file – an individual track. This allows all the services to easily shuffle them, or worse, separate them from the originating album.
This Visual Album format allows the album to be experienced as a whole – and, in this case – allows me to overlap the pieces in order to create a true "gapless" listening experience. It’s not about tracks or songs as much as one continuous multi-part piece.
